MonolithAb is a "speaking formation" centered on themes of progress and resistance. The letters depict the Luddite movement's efforts to destroy machinery at the onset of the industrial era. The alphabet begins with the invention of the spinning jenny, which marked the start of the factory-based cotton industry, and ends with the trial and execution of the Luddite, Daniel Diggle.
